Esther Margaret update

Hi all,

I had to share this with you. For someone that was disinterested, she sure doesn’t like it when Martin stops petting her!

She went to the vet today and has two meds for her hips. Her toe does not need to be amputated, but there is a growth on top of the toe that needs to be removed so she is being scheduled for that and to have her teeth cleaned.

She has decided sleeping on tempurpedic beds is preferable to the floor. She sleeps with our daughter at night. She doesn’t even try to move until we lift her down in the morning and in fact was so hasty to go to bed last night she jumped on Emma’s bed! It surprised the hell out of us and we won’t be encouraging it.

Overall she’s walking quite well. She’s got a lot of pep in step, really. It’s good to see the change in her. ❤️

Warmly,

Esther Margaret

Hi all,

I wanted to share some pics with you. Esther is settling in beautifully. Yesterday she was def a little nervous, but she took to Martin right away and would lift her paw when he stopped petting her. Today she’s been on the bed with us (we have a pet ramp, but Martin is lifting her on and off until she gets used to it) and she was basically taking up his whole lap. 😂

She goes to the vet tom, but we checked with her in the meantime and are giving her some meticam and gabapentin for mobility and pain. I’ll let you know what our vet says tom. Obviously we are most concerned about the toe.

She’s now met the whole pack due to an open door and everyone heading outside to see her. There was no drama and she’s fine with everyone.

We are just thrilled with her progress. Today she’s far more social, up walking around and investigating things, being more affectionate and REALLY enjoying mealtime. We’ve decided she’s going to be just fine. ❤️

Warmly,

Nora

We adopted Nori at estimated 10 weeks on June 30th. She is thriving in our home and meshed with the whole family. She has fallen in love with her big “fur” brother Quinn and is loved by the whole family. She is the perfect little addition to our family.

Dash

Good afternoon! My apologies for taking so long to respond to your email. I can not tell you how thrilled and happy we are with Dash. We lost our last rescue in September of last year. We rescued her when she was 8 weeks old, and we had her until 9 days before her 16th birthday. It was one of the hardest things to make the decision to help her cross the Rainbow Bridge, but it was time, and she let us know that.

My husband decided he didn't want to go through that again, while I wasn't sure, as we are dog people. After grieving myself sick, and neither of us getting over her death after eight months, we decided the only thing that would help us would be to get another dog.

I found this website called Rescue Me! You could choose the breeds you were interested in and the state. I choose border collie mix, Australian shepherd mix and mutt! Dash was the 3rd dog and one look at his face, and we wanted him. I did call and talk to the volunteers listed on the info sheet (Sorida and Annette) to find out more about him.

I will add that I would have never thought to look at the Osceola County Animal Services, as we are from Lake County. It was a great idea to list your dogs on that website.

We were there at your facility at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th, although you didn't open until 10:00 a.m., we weren't taking any chances of someone else getting him. I walked into the facility with the info sheet on Dash, and said, "Hi, I'm Rebecca, and we're here to get our dog Dash!"

And, we did! He has been nothing but pure joy! Now in the mornings, instead of feeling sad, we're laughing as Dash has to be cuddled as soon as we all wake up (yes, he does sleep with us!).

He is the sweetest, most affectionate dog ever. Yes, he does has the border collie instinct to chase critters, but we're working on that, and he's doing very well! Did I mention that he's really smart too!

I have inserted some photos of him below. I think you will agree he is one happy dog, and we are two happy humans because of him!

Boots
Biscuit

We have decided to name her Biscuit, she loves exploring her new home, playing with her scratcher and playing hide and seek!

Toph

Hello!

Thank you for following up with us concerning our adoption of Toph, (yes, we've decided to keep her name).

She's a tough little cookie, who is curiously fearless and we are absolutely crazy about this little girl!

She is settling in rather nicely, so far, albeit, cautiously with our dog, Roo, but I have a feeling that they soon will become friends, at least that is my hope. By the way, Roo was also rescued there at your facility five years ago.

Toph loves to eat as if each meal is her last, especially Roo's food, if we let her, (which we don't).

She also loves to follow us around and "help" with everything, lol.

Adopting a pet from your facility was a good decision, one that has brought much joy to our family, twice over, and one that I would recommend to anyone.

Thank you.
Anne

Habanero-Capitan
Arthur

Hi so I adopt chico who is now Arthur. He is settling in great . He is on meds for his skin and eyes, and ear antibiotics.

Rocky

Thank you for reaching out to see how the adoption is going. I renamed Raman to Archie. He is adjusting well at his new forever home. It took a couple of days for him to get acquainted with his new environment but he has adjusted very well. He has even become friends with our two dogs and they get along very well. He is very playful and love to run they the house playing with his toys.

Rocky (photos)

Hi!
Just wanted to give a little update on how Neo (fka Rocky) is doing. He’s right at home already, loves cuddles, his toys, and sleeping on the cat tree where he can look outside. He’s been letting me carry him like a baby around the house.
Stormy was a little hesitant at first but after a couple days he has become the role of big brother. They play and sleep together now. It’s so sweet. Everyone is obsessed with Neo, and he seems to be so comfortable here already. 💙

Surge

Please let the staff know (I noticed 1 or 2 who seemed particularly fond of) Surge that he has settled in nicely. He has his forever home.
