Volunteer interest: Dog Care weekdays

  • Collage with three dog photosCompleting the form below will give you access to the weekday morning or afternoon shelter volunteer orientation course. To participate, you must be available for all hands-on training and volunteer work during the same day and time each week. We anticipate opening more volunteer opportunities and hours in the future.

    After viewing the presentations, you may either continue with the process by starting the application or stop.

    Unfortunately, we cannot accept volunteers under 18 years of age in our volunteer program per Osceola County policy. Please try again when you reach 18 years of age.

  • 18 or older

    Please continue to the orientation below. The brief video or slide show will give you an idea of the volunteer requirements as well as some of our procedures.

  • Available Dog Care volunteer hours for training

    Weekdays, 10:00 - 12:00, or
    weekdays 1:00 - 3:00.

  • After training, your schedule will become much more flexible.

    Please note: Animal Services pays the expense of conducting a background check on each adult volunteer. Due to this expense, we ask that each new adult volunteer make a minimum 50 hour/six month commitment to actively volunteer at the shelter.  If you are not able to make that commitment, we ask that you do not proceed with the application process at this time.

    Volunteers who begin at the shelter and do not meet this commitment may be billed for the background check.
