Osceola County Animal Services internship program provides a unique opportunity to gain experience in a fast paced shelter environment. This hands-on program is designed to increase your knowledge and experience in a professional setting.

Requirements for internships vary by position and can be found in their program descriptions. Internships are unpaid, volunteer positions, and submitting an application does not guarantee inclusion in the program. Applicants will be notified by email for interviews by the Volunteer Coordinator.

General Requirements:

  • Passion for animal welfare

  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure

  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and push moderately heavy objects

  • Ability to commit to the complete internship term with no vacation time

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver’s License and have reliable transportation

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program, either in vocational school or college, or college graduate. College students may be enrolled as either the undergraduate or graduate level. Students must have completed one year of coursework or 15 credit hours and have an overall grade point average of 2.5 or above. May be a credit or non-credit internship. Animal Services does not provide college credit but will work with the intern and their supporting program.
