News: Osceola County Rabies Alert
Issued by the Florida Department of Health
Issued January 16, 2026.
► A cat found on Carolina Ave. in St Cloud tested positive for rabies.
► The Florida Department of Health issued a rabies alert for 60 days beginning on January 16, 2026 and ending on March 18, 2026.
► Area included in the alert:
• Lakeshore Blvd on the Northern boundary
• Fertic Rd on the Southern boundary
• Old Hickory Tree Rd on the Eastern boundary
• Wisconsin Ave on the Western boundary

► What you should do:
•• Make sure that all of your pets are up to date with their rabies vaccines.
•• Stay clear of wild animals; do not feed them.
•• Report stray animals to Animal Services at 407-742-8000.
•• Immediately report any wild animal bites or scratches to Florida Health – Osceola at 407-742-8606 after washing with soap and running water for 10 minutes.
