Other position details	As a Dog Care Volunteer, you play a vital role in providing love and attention to dogs in need. Your responsibilities include enriching, walking, socializing, and assisting with basic grooming to promote the dogs’ well-being and happiness. You’ll help keep the environment clean and safe, support shelter staff with daily tasks, and contribute to the overall health of the dogs. While initial training involves walking dogs to and from group play, volunteers who sign up for this position will primarily focus on individual walks and enrichment activities. Advancement opportunity: Once you’ve completed Dog Care Training, you can sign up to assist with playgroups! Volunteers in this role help run and supervise dog playgroups, making sure all dogs stay safe, happy, and interact appropriately. Playgroups take place outdoors, so be ready to spend time in the sun. Before participating, volunteers must complete additional training to feel confident and knowledgeable about managing group play safely. This position is perfect for dog lovers who enjoy active, hands-on work and want to help dogs socialize in a fun, controlled environment.
