If your pet has been brought to Osceola County Animals Services, you will need to:

  • Visit the shelter located at 3910 Old Canoe Creek Rd, St. Cloud, FL 34769 during hours of operation, which are:

Monday, 12:00 – 5:00

Tuesday: 10:00 – 5:00

Wednesday: 10:00 – 6:00

Thursday: 10:00 – 5:00

Friday: 10:00 – 5:00

Saturday: 10:00 – 2:30

 

Until further notice and in response to COVID-19, if you want to visit the shelter to look for your lost pet, please call 407-742-8000 to make an appointment.

We will do everything possible to accommodate owners looking for lost pets as soon as humanly possible while taking steps to ensure the health of our staff, volunteers, and community.

 

  • Come into the front lobby and sign in. You will be escorted by a staff member through the shelter so you can identify You will brought back to the lobby with your pet’s paperwork where a clerk will start the reclaim process as follows:

  • If current rabies vaccination of your pet cannot be verified in our system, you will asked to provide a current rabies certificate. Please bring your current rabies certificate with you to avoid problems or having to pay for another vaccine. Unless current rabies vaccination can be verified in accordance with 828.30, Florida Statute, requiring rabies vaccination of dogs, cats, and ferrets, a rabies vaccine will be administered to your pet by the shelter veterinarian prior to release.

  • You will be asked for photo identification.

There will be fees associated with picking up your pet including:

  • Impound fee:

  • Boarding fee:

  • Rabies vaccination:

  • License tag:

  • $25.00 per pet for first offense

  • $9.00 per day for cats, $10 per day for dogs, $20 per day for livestock

  • $7.00

  • $6.00 for spayed/neutered pets, $12.00 for intact pets

There may be other fees if:

  • Your pet has been impounded previously; second impoundment is $50, and third is $75.00.

  • Your pet received veterinary care for an illness or injury. The fee will be $85 or $210.00 depending on the severity of the injury or illness and the treatment that was provided.

  • If your pet received outside veterinary care to address an immediate medical issue, you are responsible for payment of that bill. If Osceola County paid that bill on your behalf, reimbursement for the amount paid is expected at the time of pick-up.

  • Citations are sometimes issued for serious violations or repeated offenses. Fines associated with citations vary widely.

Once you have completed this process, you will be able to take him/her home.
